Our pintail monoskis are excellent entry level boards for kids and adults and at

Adult sizes are 150 and 165 only due to core thickness and overall monoski width.

Pintails are excellent in the powder and the bumps and are little less intimidating to the young'ins than a monoski with a lot of sidecut.

The Duret pintails are very easy for children to learn on and excellent powder boards too. Many of the younger kids that we instruct seem to have a much easier time on this shape than models with alot of sidecut.

Buy any adult board and bindings and get any kids pintail (excluding the 165) for only $109

165cm. This board is small enough for an 85lb rider and big enough for many heavier adults to use as well.

When teaching the wee ones, give them the chance to go with the flow, the main issue for the kids will be to keep the knees together. One of the issues with instructing kids is to not be too cerebral and technical with them. Have fun with the little ones, if you can accomplish that they will learn faster and be rippin' in no time!

If they keep on catching their edge, detune the tip way down to the toe binding, they are probably rolling their ankles into the turn. Have them jump from turn to turn until they understand how to break the edge loose from a carve.
